Here's What I Wore" posts and a few do not. I know that I can not please all y'all, however lately, I received an anonymous comment from a reader who said she thought my "obsession to put on clothes fit for only 20 year-olds" was out of control. She also talked about that I ought to "give attention to bloggers my own age for my 'Friday Style File'." Lord have mercy!

First, I believe that my wardrobe is relatively prim & correct.

Second, I feature bloggers whose style I admire. Once i take a look at their outfits, I don't want attempt to repeat them; I am impressed by them and get ideas from them. Then, I create my own outfit and make it my own! I'm featuring fashionable bloggers in no sure order. Some of my very favorite model bloggers are still in my queue Arising this Friday, I will be that includes a blogger who has fantastic model and she is also close to my age!

My style has at all times been a bit prim & proper, basic, and preppy. Within the photo under circa early 80's, I'm dressed in a very preppy style and that has remained my vogue fashion of selection since then.

In the picture under taken 30 years later in the course of the summer of 2011, I am nonetheless rocking that very same fashion...preppy skirts, Bermuda luggage, and the same ponytail!
By now, y'all ought to know that I adhere to my own strict gown code when attending bare arms, no low-reduce outfits, no see-via outfits, and stockings are a should, together with closed-toe shoes. My 'Vara' ferragamo belt outlet pumps are the right selection for my church sneakers. Dressy pumps for the grown-up girls Too younger? I believe not!

This Lilly 'Sabine' shirtdress is preppy and in addition prim, paired with hot pink tights and Revas. I don't think this outfit looks too younger for me! In reality, the day I wore this, I acquired quite a few compliments and one lady who was around my age commented that she cherished seeing me wearing the tights with the gown and mentioned that she was gonna begin wearing them also!
This Lilly 'Havana A superb Time' shift is ideal for summer time church providers, when paired with a pink cardi, stockings, and closed-toe Revas! Filled with shade and yet just prim and proper sufficient for church!

Back in the day, you could discover me sunning on the seaside in St. Thomas wearing bikinis. Nicely, nowadays, I'm rocking this cute Lilly 'Grasshopper' one-piece...often with a cute Lilly cover up! Cute and colorful swimsuit for the grown-up ladies!
The Lilly Amberly 'Twinkle' gown...Oh my...Once i walked into the Lilly store, this darling strapless costume caught my eye. However, at my age, I feel this style is simply too younger for me! *le sigh*
While I notice that the fashion industry caters to young ladies, I feel that the older ladies can still have enjoyable with fashion. The Lilly Cherry 'Twinkle' is the identical pattern because the strapless number above and a significantly better selection for the "little previous lady" in me.
Years in the past, I'd have completely rocked this Lilly Isabel 'White Mariposa' halter dress...
But, the grown-up Miss Janice now chooses to put on this classic Lilly 'White Mariposa' Margot shift dress...with a green cardi over my shoulders and grass green Revas.
I am unable to ever remember carrying a skirt that was thirteen 1/4" lengthy--even when I used to be young...but I do love the Lilly 'Mind-set' sample...I tried on each of the shifts and the Bermuda shorts, but none of them have been a very good fit for me.
So I picked up the Lilly Roslyn skirt in the 'State of mind' sample...18 /14" lengthy. This is a superb size for me, since I am only 5' 4" tall.
Oh my goodness...I totally beloved this Lilly Bowen 'Chorus Woman' dress in the strapless style. That is the pattern I chose for my Easter gown, but y'all know I'd never walk into church wearing a strapless dress...even with a cardi. *le sigh*
So, I chose the Lilly Eryn 'Chorus Girl' gown below and Fake Ferragamo Belt thought my Easter frock dilemna was solved! Not!!! After i acquired it house, this gown seemed so dowdy on me. I absolutely cherished it, nevertheless it wasn't made for brief ladies...or this short woman! Took it back and now the hunt for the Easter frock is still on!!! I may very well should look inside "Miss Janice's closet" for my costume...Lord have mercy!
I first noticed this Lilly 'Bowen' strapless gown in turquoise with the 'Laroc Panel Embroidery' at Dillard's. I needed it so unhealthy, however once more, the model is simply too young for me...
So, I bought the Lilly 'Roslyn' skirt and that i Adore it!!! Cannot wait to put on this cutie after Easter.

I do try to choose style that is suitable for my age. I do not wear low-lower tops or mini-skirts, I've never worn stilletos in my life nor have I worn tops that show my midriff.

My ponytail. Hmmmm. Loads of y'all probably suppose that I am too old to be carrying my hair in a ponytail with grosgrain ribbon bows and headbands. The one factor I can say is that my ponytail retains getting shorter and decrease...possibly virtually in a low chignon. I won't ever cease sporting the ponytail and will in all probability nonetheless be adorning it with cute grosgrain bows when i get to the rest House. It's all simply me...and my model!
